Happy New Year!

Greetings All!

Extra little show, this Wednesday, the 7th of Januari, '09 @ Kings Lounge, in the Back Bay of Boston, 9:30 PM, no cover charge, 18+. The last performance of Melou before they go to Europe to prepare for their next Summer Tour.

Happy new year! We want to send out a big thanks to everyone who came out to the CD release party. It was a lot of fun and nice to play in the states again. Melou will be heading back across the ocean come February, where we will get ready for another European tour. We will keep you updated on where and when we play through both our website and Myspace.

Our new album, "Battery Park", and our debut album, "Communication", are now available at the Newbury Comics stores in Newton, Boston (on Newbury Street), Harvard Square, Amherst, and Nashua!

In other news we are working on a live album with the help of our fiends at Strandbad Restaurant Theo Edam. During the tour we played a gig there that was recorded and will be released both as a CD and DVD in the up coming months. We will keep you posted on the release date.

To purchase the new album, "Battery Park", online visit iTunes or to order a hard copy visit Amazon.com.

To find out where we're playing you can check out the Live section of our website or our Myspace, www.myspace.com/meloumusic, which will be updated regularly with upcoming performances.

The website now has songs from our new album "Battery Park" which can be found in the Music section. The new single from the album Wrong Way is now available as a free download by right clicking on the link and choosing save as. The new songs and pictures are also posted on our myspace: www.myspace.com/meloumusic.

Feel free to check out the new site and tell us what you think on our new Guestbook.

Two tracks from "Battery Park" are featured on various podcasts. One is an Italian Soul Podcast, called "The Funny Show" which features the first track on the album, "Step Right Up". The other Podcast is the very sexy Anji Bee's Chillcast which features the song "Travel On." You can check out either of the podcasts by clicking on one of the links:

As for our first album "Communication", we came across a great review of it from the Dutch magazine "Fret:"

"The name "Melange" wouldn't have been a bad choice either. The band featuring singer Annie Goodchild presents their debut album Communication, a surprising cocktail of soul, jazz, folk, reggae, bossanova, swing and blues. Melou was founded in 2005 in Guatemala. Nowadays, Utrecht is their base, although country borders never seems to stop them. The debut got it's name from Melou's experience "that music is the most ideal way of communication". Goodchild's sultry and at the same time strong vocals occasionally bring to mind Vieira's (of Zuco 103). She shines in the first track and stays illuminated. The other musicians show their talent, especially through the interludes, which could just as easily be mini jam sessions. This is a cocktail that you'll order again and again!"

"De naam Melange had niet misstaan. De groep rond zangeres en muzikante Annie Goodchild presenteert op haar debuutalbum Communication namelijk een verrassende cocktail van soul, jazz, folk, reggae, bossanova, swing en blues. Melou werd opgericht in 2005 in Guatemala. Tegenwoordig is Utrecht de uitvalbasis. De groep tourt veel in buitenland. Melou is vooral in Barcelona hot. "

We want to thank Fret magazine, the incredibly sexy Anji Bee, and The Funny Show for their support and to all of you have been helping us out and keeping the music alive.

Peace & Love
